State Sen. Tony Hwang (R-Fairfield)

January 17th, 2016 Dialogue Show:

On this week’s show, Steve Kotchko talks with State Senator Tony Hwang from Fairfield about the rough news that General Electric is leaving its world headquarters in Fairfield and moving to Boston.  Senator Hwang tells that losing GE is a “real kick in the stomach” for Fairfield and the State of Connecticut, with the loss of local property taxes, lost business to local services, and of course the GE jobs.  He also discusses whether losing GE could have been avoided, and how the state needs to make sure another company of this magnitude doesn’t move out of Connecticut because of the business climate here.
