June 5th, 2016 Dialogue Show:

This week on Dialogue, Mark Sims talks with Dr. Philip Armstrong, Director of Connecticut’s Mosquito Management Program.  He tells that this year they are trapping and testing for 3 mosquito-borne viruses: West Nile Virus, Triple-E Virus, and new this year: the Zika Virus.  Zika Virus, prevalent in Latin America and the Caribbean, has caused birth defects in newborns.  Dr. Armstrong tells what kind of threat Zika Virus is here in Connecticut, and also talks about precautionary measures residents can take to protect themselves against all of these mosquito-borne viruses.
