February 19th, 2017 Dialogue Show:
On this Dialogue, Steve Kotchko talks with Mark Waxenberg, Executive Director of the Connecticut Education Association, about why they feel Governor Malloy’s education proposals are flawed. The teacher’s union official says the governor’s school funding redistribution plan will hurt middle class towns, not just the wealthy ones. The CEA feels true reform of education funding will take more money, and may need new taxes for support. Waxenberg also tells why Governor Malloy’s bid to force towns to pay 1/3rd of teacher pension costs is wrong.
